4 little secrets to fight transitional weather & its consequences on your skin by Carolina Malis
Believe me, there's no one in this world happier than me about the fact that summer is over, but while I'm absolutely delighted about the new season, there’s a little something I don’t like about it: transitional weather likes to play games with my skin - and in case you were wondering, those games are not fun at all.
My skin is super sensitive, reason why during season transition I have to be specially careful and build up a good soothing skincare routine or I’m gonna end up seeing the consequences reflected on my face at the one of the day.
Does this sound familiar? Well, thankfully you're not alone. Our environment, the temperature, humidity, what we eat and even our stress levels can affect how our skin looks and feels, and it happens to be that when the season changes, our habits and environment do to! That’s why I’m gonna share with you some of the products that will be for sure my skin’s superheroes now that it’s getting colder and dryer out there.
Real Flower Cleansing Water - Rose
First things first. Who's not obsessed with the smell of roses? I am attracted to roses just as bees are to honey. This cleansing water made with real rose petals - you can in fact see them on the bottom of the bottle - not only removes all my makeup and dirt but it also hydrates and refreshes my skin. On days I’m wearing light or not makeup at all I like to replace my cleansing oil with the Rose cleansing water, especially on colder days when I tend to get some flaky spots on my forehead or the skin under my eyes gets dehydrated.
Real Flower Cleansing Water - Calendula
Now, what about when my skin decides it’s breakouts and redness party time? On those days, the Calendula Cleansing water comes to the rescue. Containing real calendula petals on its formula -you can also see them dancing on the bottom of the bottle in this one - it also removes my makeup and dirt while hydrating my skin, but in addition to that it helps calming down redness, irritation and inflammation. Specially when a new pimple shows up, I like to soak a cotton pad with the calendula cleansing water and massage the breakout with it so I get all the dirt and bacteria out.
White Truffle Serum in Oil Drop
You know what's funny? I’m not a fan of oils or oil-textured serums, but I can't live without them during Fall and Winter. I have combo skin, which means you can find some oily and some dry spots on my face, but on the transition to Fall/Winter my skin gets way more on the dry side than the oily side, so I try to always mix a few drops of oil into my night cream for an extra moisturizing effect. The White Truffle Serum - besides not being sticky AT ALL - it’s basically like a cup of coffee for my skin. When I wake up in the morning after using it for my nighttime routine my skin looks bright, energized and alive. Best part? It's a long-lasting effect. White truffle not only works as an anti aging ingredient, but its high Vitamin C content helps diminishes hyperpigmentation and dull skin, which result in brighter complexion.
RE:P Bio Fresh Mask with Real Calming Herbs
There's nothing better than a good, hydrating and revitalizing mask after a long day, right? This peel-off mask formulated with real calendula and chamomile is just perfect for sensitive and troubled skin. Breakouts are showing up or inflammation and redness are taking over? Then here’s the answer to fight them and soothe your skin.
While peeling away impurities and any dirt that may be trapped inside your pores, this mask gently exfoliates to remove sebum and dead skin cells. I like to use it specially when the Fall air gets super dry or if I’ve been near a heater for too long.
