Real Cica Pad & Real Fresh Foam Cranberry Review by The Glam Gamer
by The Glam Gamer ( The Glam Gamer )
Fall means cooler temperatures and that means those of us with oily skin should rejoice that the heat and humidity is behind us. However, for some regions Autumn can start a little later. That often means weather that fluctuate between cool mornings, warms days and cool nights. This kind of weather can wreak some kind of havoc on skin, especially oily skin.
Hydration is key when keeping skin in balance, not just during seasonal transitions but year round. Oily skin can get dehydrated the same as dry skin. Cooler air may seem to lessen oil production but this “less oil” can lead to skin dehydration which makes your sebaceous glands produce more oil to re-hydrate and replenish the skin’s natural barrier thus making skin extra oily. No fun.
When the season began to transition here, my oily and non sensitive skin got a little itchy. I know my skin well enough to know that when it itches I need a gentle hydrating cleanser paired with a calming product.
Neogen Real Fresh Foam Cranberry, $17.59, is gentle and perfect for all skin types. It’s made utilizing real fruit water and extracts. There’s even cranberries in the bottom of the bottle! It’s formulated with 99 natural ingredients including: cranberry fruit and cranberry fruit water, moringa seed extract, extracts of plankton, myrtle, lemon and black currant, papaya and mango. These all provide antioxidant protection and keep the skin’s natural moisture barrier balanced. Coconut, tremella mushroom, argan oil and honey give skin deep hydration that won’t make it feel extra oily. Extracts of peony and rice brighten skin while witch hazel, cucumber and aloe calm and soothe.
For a morning cleanse, two pumps will give you a soft, plush foam that feels good. My skin felt soft and fresh afterwards with no oily residue. The cleanser will not strip your skin and it helps control sebum by balancing with moisture. This makes it really good for pore care.
For nighttime double cleansing, 2-3 pumps will again give you the right amount of foam you need as your second cleanse. I use 3 pumps at night and it works perfectly. The scent is very light, slightly fruity and comes from the cranberries. There are no artificial fragrances, sulfates or parabens.
The Neogen Real Cica Pad, $20, is a product that I have used before and always make sure to have it in my skin care arsenal for times when I need some serious skin care. If you have any skin irritation, this pad will take care of it. Believe me.
The pads are soaked in an essence that contains Centella asiatica, a centuries old super skin healer. Centella asiatica, an anti-inflammatory, heals, soothes and helps repair and protect the skin’s moisture barrier. Madecassic acid and madecassoside provide an extra dose of calming and healing. Glycerin, hyaluronic acid and ceramides provide intense hydration that don’t feel heavy. Lactobionic acid (a PHA) gives skin very gentle exfoliation to get rid of dead skin cells and lighten any post acne marks.
Whether it’s itchy skin, breakouts, rosacea or irritation caused from another factor, these pads will get right to work on calming and soothing your skin. Use these pads once a day, after cleansing and toning, and you will see and feel a difference in your skin. I like using the pad at night. I use one side for my face and the other for my neck and chest area. Afterwards I pat any remaining essence into my skin and move on to serum, moisturizer, etc.
After 2-3 days of using these products together my skin stopped feeling itchy and was balanced and comfortable feeling. No extra oiliness, no pore clogging and no breakouts. Just glowy and happy skin.
If fall-to-summer seasonal transition has your skin confused, give these 2 products a try.
As always, thank you for reading. Remember, the truest form of beauty is a kind heart.
