RE:P All-night Moisture & Relief Mask Review

by Elaine ( Maskepedia )

RE:P Nutrinature Ultra All-Night Moisture & Relief Mask is a moisture-enriched sleeping mask that contains niacinamide to calm, retain skin elasticity and improve skin barrier function overnight and reveal a healthy and glowing complexion.

Olive provides deep hydration that won’t clog pores. Calendula, tea tree oil, and applemint have anti-inflammatory and anti-septic capabilities, rendering them great for calming acne-prone skin. This sleeping mask passed the Skin Irritation Test, and is safe for even the most sensitive skin types. It is also free of mineral oil, sorbic acid, animal ingredients, surfactants, parabens, mineral oil and propylene glycol.

However, ingredients analysis on CosDNA does not look good. Alcohol denat (4th), Glyceryl Stearate SE (9th), and Hydrogenated vegetable oil (13th) have concerning ratings. I also noticed that colors have been added to the product, albeit naturally-derived. So the conclusion is, please avoid if you have known allergies to any of these ingredients, or patch test if you are unsure. Since I don’t, I am happy to try this out on my skin.

RE:P (pronounced “repeat,” minus the “T”), the first Korean beauty brand to be Leaping Bunny Cruelty Free certified. RE:P stands for “Real Elemental Practice.” Formulated on an “au naturel” philosophy, RE:P practices smart, natural, and sustainable skincare that is simultaneously nourishing to the skin and good to the environment.

Instructions:
After completing your skin care routine, pump RE:P Nutrinature Ultra All-Night Moisture & Relief Mask into hands. Use clean fingertips to gently pat product into face and neck until absorbed. Use once to twice a week or as needed.

3.38 oz / 100 ml is contained in a clear plastic tall bottle with a vacuum pump. This is my preferred mode of dispensing skincare products due to the hygiene and freshness factor and the ability to get a consistent amount of product each time.

This sleeping mask has a gel consistency and sports a light mint-green shade. I use 2 full pumps on my entire face, applying a lighter layer on my oilier areas like nose and chin. It glides on the skin very easily without dragging and melts into a water-gel texture upon spreading. It took about  half hour to partially absorb and dry down to a hydrating film on my skin, not a good idea to use this right before bedtime for it might get messy. But once absorb/dried down, I could sleep any way I want without smearing the sleeping mask on my pillow.

I used to get out of bed with stretchy and dry skin thanks to my dehydrated skin’s inability to retain moisture. But on days when I use this, I do not get that feeling at all. It is also relatively easy to rinse off in the morning, unlike some other gel-type sleeping masks that forms a hardened jello layer on the skin that requires multiple swipes of cleansing water-soaked cotton pads to get off.

Despite the concerning ingredients mention earlier, my sensitive skin did not show any negative reactions to this sleeping mask from using this daily. In fact, I only see positive results in the form of moisture retention and plumpness. The only thing I didn’t enjoy about this product is the scent. It has a pretty strong artificial fruity scent that reminded me of traditional ice pops in the green flavor.

Due to the light texture, this is highly suitable for oily all year round and combo skin in the warmer months. Dry skin types might find this insufficient.

Compared to most of the sleeping masks I’ve tried and tested, this one gives you the most bang for your buck, a.k.a. value-for-money. So if you’re in the market for a sleeping mask, don’t have dry skin, and are not sensitive to any of the ingredients, I recommend trying this out.
