Dewy is easy with this fermented godsend: the Real Ferment Micro serum

By Carolina Malis

Dewy finish. How many times have you heard that concept during the last couple of years? While in the past it was all about Matte finish nowadays accomplishing a glossy, wet, honey-like complexion is something many wish for (me included). The so called dewy-finish had many different names this year: Glass Skin, Honey Skin, Cloud Skin… but it doesn't really matter how you call it the point is: healthy-looking skin is in.

But all these skin trends are not accomplished with makeup but with skincare, and that's what makes them so fascinating. It's all about hydration and radiance on a skin that's deeply plumpled with nourishment instead of tons of highlighter on every high spot of your face. But how do we reach that? Well, well, well, there is a few products out there that can help you.

While cleansing your skin every single day, toning, moisturizing and protecting it from the sun are MUSTS to accomplish the glass-skin goal, there’s a few ingredients and formulas out there that can be really helpful to keep hydration locked in so the glow remains.

Neogen Dermalogy Real Ferment Micro Serum

Remember I've raved about the wonders of the Dermalogy Micro Essence before? (If you’re part or my circle of friends I’ve probably forced you to get it). Well, there’s a family member in this line that's just as wonderful and addictive: the Real Ferment Micro Serum (insert angels choir sound here). This follow-up to the Essence delivers a concentrated boost of nutrients and antioxidants to the skin in matter on seconds, kind of like a shot of energy.

I like to think of it as an energizing drink for my skin. Its formula containing 61% fermented ingredients comes in a gel-like texture that absorbs into the skin so easily you won't believe it. Something I notice every single time I apply it is how bouncy and elastic my skin feels a couple of minutes after, almost like one of those stress-relief balls. I have to admit thought that one of my biggest concerns before trying this was if it would leave my skin feeling greasy or oily, but not at all. It is thicker than the serums I'm used to but once again, it absorbs so easily you'll be shocked.

Another confession? I'm waaaay more into it for winter than summer. Specially right now, when the cold weather doesn't seem to give us a break, this serum is the perfect formula to keep my skin glowing even when it feels like the antartida over here. Another perk? It goes great under makeup! I only own dewy finish cushion, you'll never find anything Matte in my makeup bag, but I feel like even if I was into the matte finish this serum would add a touch of glow that those who don't like the dewy look would enjoy as well.
