Your new best friend against Acne: Neogen’s A-Clear Line

Your new best friend against Acne: Neogen’s A-Clear Line

By Carolina Malis

Oh, Acne. What an awful problem to have. From all the skincare struggles there’s out there acne is probably the worst one. Dermatologists, skincare specialist, doctors, beauty experts… everyone has tried to find the solution to it but unfortunately the solution is not always found on the first trial.

See, the thing with acne is there’s never just one answer to it. While you can fight it using certain products formulated with acne-calming ingredients, the way you eat, your lifestyle choices and even your hormones have word in how acne is gonna manifest on your skin.

Now, this doesn’t mean the solution is not in your hands. Learning what your skin needs is rule number one when trying to get rid of it. First off, you need to stop believing astringent products will be the solution. There’s this - very, super, uber - wrong idea that in order to get rid of acne you also need to get rid of all oils in your face. WRONG. Using products that strip out your skin from oil will only cause the opposite result: your skin will try to compensate the lack of oils by generating more, which will lead to excess sebum and then more acne.

We need to break this cycle by finding products that will not only soothe our skin and keep it hydrated, but also products that will take care of keeping bacteria at bay (and no, alcohol is not an ingredient you want to use for this matter as some may wrongly think).

Thing is most of those with acne prone skin also suffer from sensitive skin, reason why you need to be very gentle when picking out the products that will help you through this journey. That’s one of the main reason why I trust Neogen: I know their products are never gonna be harmful to my skin. The good news? The brand just came out with an Anti-acne line and yes, I’m so here for it. I’ve been trying 3 of the products and so far I gotta admit I’m impressed. Wanna know my first thoughts on them? Here they go!

A-Clear Soothing Overnight Mask

Love me some good overnight masks. This one is my favorite from this collection. This mask not only keeps your skin calm and hyper hydrated while you’re sleeping but also fights against acne and protects your skin from growing more bacteria. Its formula is truly amazing: containing ingredients such as salicylic acid, a powerful yet gentle BHA exfoliator, this mask gently exfoliates the skin overnight, plus helps soothe the skin to prevent future breakouts, while controlling sebum production for a healthy balanced skin. All this overnight!

A-Clear Soothing Foam Cleanser

Cleansing your skin is a must to keep acne away, and doing so with a cleanser that will keep your skin calm and won't irritate it or stress it out is fundamental in the formula. Formulated with Salicylic acid and natural exfoliating agents this cleanser not only gets rid of dirt but also gently exfoliates, which is a great 2-in-1 for those with extra sensitive skin. But that’s not all! There's also Tea Tree and Licorice in the formula, which together help reduce inflammation, toxicity and irritation, while Centella Asiatica and Panthenol relax irritated and stressed skin.

A-Clear Soothing Pink Eraser

You’ve probably seen some similar bottles containing a pink dusty formula inside, but why is this one different from all those? This little bottle of magic is an intensive soothing & skin purifying blemish-spot treatment that helps both soothe and clear away blemishes. Also containing Tea tree oil, centella asiatica and salicylic acid, you’ll see this formula comes in two separate layers: a clear fluid and the pink Calamine powder which treats blemishes instantly without irritating them. Just place a bit of it over your blemishes and see it get smaller and less irritated in matter of hours!
