NEO I SPOTLIGHT
The one and only sheet mask you need for your winter routine

The one and only sheet mask you need
 for your winter routine

By Carolina Malis

For the past few years thousands or thousands of new beauty trends have showed up. There are ones that last, others that come and go, but there’s one trend that arrived in this world to stay for eternity: sheet masks. At this point I think we all have tried at least 1 sheet masks in our lives, am I right? There are really simple ones, luxury ones, for brightening, for aging, for wrinkles, for hydration… there’s a sheet mask for everyone and their mothers out there. But there’s so much more to these godsends than just a cotton layer you put on your face and take selfies with.

While their main goal is to hydrate your skin, sheet masks are packed with ingredients that can actually help your skin heal and become stronger. There are cotton ones, Bio-Cellulose, Pulp, Hydro-Gel, even coconut based ones lately, but there’s a special little one I want to introduce you to today in case you haven't heard about it before. (Warning: It’s gonna change your winter skincare routine forever).

The Neogen Knit Mask (or how I like to call it, face sweater) uses a unique knitted texture, different from the cotton ones even when they look similar. This material allows maximum absorption and helps the essence penetrate deep down your skin while keeping hydration locked in. Now, there are two different types, and while I think both are amazing, here’s a little breakdown so you know which one to choose.

Cactus Liftmax Knit Mask

This mask is soaked - and when I say soaked I mean it… you can tell how heavy the mask is the second you put it on your face - in 60 milligrams of a concentrated blend of prickly pear cactus and pink algae, which deliver multiple antioxidants and help fortify your skin. If you’re concerned about elasticity loss or early aging signs, then this will be your absolute BFF. Other components like Vitamin C, Beta-Carotene, Camellia and Lotus Flower get together to calm and hydrate skin while lifting up and getting rid of wrinkles and fine lines.

Now this mask is what I call a skincare miracle. It contains 60 milligrams of essence made out of white truffle, avocado oil and propolis, the perfect combo to maintain skin balance, brighten skin and protect it from the environment. While both work wonders, this is the one that brings the most benefits for my skin. Applying this once a week not only plumps up my skin but helps retain moisture in for a longer time.

Just remember to cleanse your skin and use toner before applying the mask. The package says you should wear it for around 10-20 minutes, but I’ve never, ever, ever used it for less than an hour, because yes, that’s how long it will remain wet (remember...60 milligrams of essence). Give it a try and let us know your thoughts!
